EMK Launches New Tribal Website

The Native Village of Emmonak is proud to announce the launch of its first official website, marking a significant milestone in improving access to information, news, and resources for Tribal Citizens.

Until now, the Tribe primarily relied on social media to share news and updates with the community. While the new website will serve as a central hub for Tribal information, the Native Village of Emmonak will continue to use its Facebook page as an important tool for outreach and engagement.

“Our new website is an exciting step forward for our Tribe,” said Janice Agwiak, Tribal Administrator. “For the first time, we have a dedicated online space that reflects who we are as a community—welcoming, informative, and rooted in our Yup’ik traditions. We want our citizens, near and far, to have easier access to the information and resources they need.”

The website features user-friendly navigation, mobile compatibility, and regularly updated sections.  Additional updates and new content will continue to be added over time.

The project was designed and developed in partnership with Ikonic Public Relations, an Alaska Native woman-owned and operated firm specializing in strategic communications and web development for Tribal and Alaska Native organizations.  The design was inspired by the region and traditional Yup’ik cultural elements.  Most of the photos were provided courtesy of Emmonak Tribal Citizens Brian Waipa and Kandace Kameroff.
